Another question to test your memories... anyone know who J.Field (first name?) and Doug Disher were and why they had awards named after them?
J.J. Liston was a long-serving VFA President, Fred Hill was the VFA Secretary 1954-74, etc but I've found nothing on these two.
G'Day Guys
Wondering if anyone knows the first names of the following players?
D. Baird (Brunswick) - won Div.2 goalkicking in 1973
P. Smith (Coburg) - won Div.2 goalkicking in 1974
P. Stevenson (Camberwell) - won Div.2 goalkicking in 1981
?. Carroll (Springvale) - won Div.2 goalkicking in 1982
?. Rogerson (Waverley) - won Field Medal in 1987
Thanks, Easty

Gday guys
I picked up this jacket recently, it reads 1992 VFA Representative team on the front.. It has 'no.15' written on the tag, so im guessing it belonged to no.15 for that game. Does anyone know anything about this game? who they played ect..cant find anything on it.
(sorry for the small pics)

I am compiling a list of the oldest footballs that still exist. I have contacted the VFL clubs but if any clubs has an old footy in their collection then please contact me and I will add it to the list

At present the oldest footys I know of are from AFL clubs in the pre VFL era. So they may be of interest to some.
G'Day Folks
Fantastic site here - glad to see there are people out there so passionate about the pre-VFL history of the Association!
Wondering if anyone knows of any relegation/promotion matches during the period that 2nd Division was running?
So far the only two I've found are:
Sept.16, 1961 - Mordialloc (2nd last in D1) d. Dandenong (2nd in D2) at Dandy
Sept.16, 1962 - Northcote (2nd last in D1) d. Prahran (2nd in D2) at Brunswick
Appreciate any info you can offer on this.
Dave
