Victorian Football Association History

The First VFA game under lights in Victoria was in 1873, but these games were not for premiership points.
There were a few post season VFA matches, and a VFA v VFL match under lights in the 1930s
The VFA also played in the 1950 Brisbane Carnival that played night matches.
But....can anyone help me with the first VFA match under lights for premiership points....and was the VFA involved with a night premiership at the Lake Oval in the late 1950s? I cannot find newspaper references for these and would be very interested if anyone knows?

Finally finished an article on Ron Todd's 1945 season

I think that Todd's effort deserves a bit more recognition on the internet than the few scant references that it gets. For those who dont know, he also played for the RAAF in 1945 and kicked 270 goals in total for the season when everything is combined.

I have written an article on an early VFA v VFL game. The VFL won the match, a charity game, comfortably. Nevertheless, the contest was full of meaning to all involved. I think the article will be of interest to those interested in VFA/VFL history.

The website is actually about the photographer Charles Boyles who took photos of many different football competitions, including a number of VFA photos in the 1930's.
Caulfield Bears 1973 premiership reunion is on this Saturday at the Bentleigh Club between 1pm and 5pm.
Caulfield will celebreate their 1973 VFA 2nd Divison premiership win over Brunswick. It will be a 40 year reunion. Caulfield also won the flags in the seconds and thirds in 1973.
Wonder if Prahran will be having a 40 year reunion for their 1973 1st Division flag sometime this year ?

I have had the State Library Victoria scan all the Grand final recorders they have (basically between 1960-1995). I have permission from AFL Victoria who possibly took over wnership so I'm not violating any copyright. The idea is to make them available to people for research etc and ensure they are preserved.
Does anyone have a collection of GF recorders so they can photocopied then converted to pdf (missing a few years from late 80s etc...)
