Former North Ballarat Roosters coach Gerard FitzGerald has flagged the idea of Ballarat once again being home to a VFL side, or at least partnering with an AFL club.

He says there's no reason the partnership the Western Bulldogs already have with the City of Ballarat couldn't also be a football one, similar to the set up the Roosters once had with North Melbourne.

Money a sticking point as VFL clubs try to map out a shortened season

The VFL season remains up in the air, but Sandringham says if it does go ahead players will have to play for nothing unless the AFL covers all costs.

“Sirengate” 10 years on

Today marks 10 year anniversary of one the most infamous and bizarre days of football I have ever expierenced. The day when Northern Bullants timekeeper Shane Harris and myself turned up to the timekeepers box and all sirens were not working. Carlton did not have a back up and we ended up timekeeping from the driveway at Princes Park from firstly Frankston Dolphins van then later Northern Bullants Vice Presidents car using the car horn as a siren.
